Privacy policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This page explains what happens to the details you give us when you ask for an invitation to the French Studio beta at frenchstudio.app. We've kept it short and plain.

Who is responsible

French Studio is run by John Almberg. He decides what is done with your details and is responsible for them. To reach him about anything on this page, write to privacy@frenchstudio.app.

What we collect

When you ask for an invitation, we keep:

That is all. We don't record your IP address. To stop robots, the server remembers a visitor's network address for one hour, in memory only, to limit how often the form can be sent; it is never written down. The site uses no cookies, no analytics, and nothing loaded from other companies' servers.

Why, and on what basis

We use your details for one thing: to email you about the French Studio beta and, when it's your turn, to send your invitation. Your level and your answer help us decide whom to invite in each group.

The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by ticking the box and then confirming from your inbox. You can withdraw it at any time.

The emails you'll get

Nothing else. We don't send marketing, and we never sell, rent or share your address. Every email has a link to leave the list.

Who else handles your details

Two companies handle your details for us, only to provide their service:

Where your details are kept

Your details are kept in the United States, on the server described above. Amazon Web Services takes part in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Apple protects personal data it receives from Europe with the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to:

You can leave the list yourself at any time with the link in any of our emails, and that deletes your details. For anything else, write to privacy@frenchstudio.app. We'll answer within one month.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to a data protection authority: in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority in the country where you live.

Age

French Studio is for adults. Please don't sign up if you're under 16.

Changes to this page

If we change this policy, we'll put the new version here with its date. If a change affects how we use your details, we'll tell you by email before it applies.
